Cedar Crossing Casino & Entertainment Center Announces Compass Center Exhibit and Expanded Entertainment Lineup
Interactive space exploration exhibit and nationally recognized performers add to growing list of experiences for visitors at Cedar Crossing.
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (September 30, 2026) – Cedar Crossing Casino & Entertainment Center today announced a featured exhibit opening at the Compass Center, along with an expanded lineup of concerts and comedy shows. Together, the announcements continue to showcase Cedar Crossing as a destination built around discovery, entertainment and unforgettable experiences.
Compass Center Launches with Astronaut
The Compass Center will serve as a dedicated venue for arts, culture, education and STEM programming. Designed to inspire curiosity and discovery, the space will bring nationally and internationally recognized experiences to Cedar Rapids, while creating new opportunities for learning, exploration and community engagement.
The opening exhibit at the Compass Center, Astronaut, invites guests on an immersive journey into space exploration. Created by Scitech in Perth, Australia, and produced by Imagine Exhibitions, the interactive STEM experience gives visitors a hands-on look at what it takes to train, live and work in space.
Through 26 engaging experiences, visitors will explore astronaut training, rocket launches, microgravity, life aboard the Space Lab, space technology and mission challenges. The exhibit offers a blend of education and entertainment, making it an ideal experience for families, students, educators and anyone interested in space exploration.
The exhibit is coming to Cedar Rapids from the Canadian National Exhibition at Exhibition Place in Toronto, where it was featured as part of the CNE Space Experience. Astronaut will be open from November 2026, through February 2027. Linn County school field trips will receive free admission.
“We want Cedar Crossing to be much more than a casino. The Compass Center is a big part of that,” said Aaron Gomes, President of Peninsula Pacific Entertainment. “It gives us a chance to bring something completely different to Cedar Rapids, starting with Astronaut. An exhibit like this can spark a child’s curiosity and inspire a lifetime of learning. That’s exactly what we hope to accomplish.”
More Entertainment, More Reasons to Visit
Cedar Crossing’s entertainment offerings continue to expand. From nationally touring musicians to comedians and can’t-miss performances, The Event Center is quickly establishing itself as one of the region’s premier destinations for live entertainment.
