Lisa Speller is Vice President of Government Affairs and Community Relations of Colonial Downs in Richmond, Va. She formerly served as a policy advisor in Gov. Ralph Northam’s administration, where she focused on special projects, including improving inclusiveness within the Department of Health Professions. Most recently, she co-chaired the Health Equity Steering Committee, an integral part of the administration’s initiative addressing cultural competency related to maternal mortality.


Lisa previously served as Senior Policy Advisor to Mayor Levar M. Stoney of the City of Richmond, Va. She was responsible for working with the mayor on matters impacting the community, public safety and ensuring transparency in government.


With extensive experience in the health and managed care industry, Lisa previously served as the Community Outreach and Business Development Director at Anthem Healthcare in Richmond, VA. She holds a bachelor’s degree and is a registered nurse.
